Chaitu - Kirthi
Dear Chaitu,
We all love you, and I hope you always know that. The Chaitu that I've known and want to remember was(is) sweet, immature and carefree with not a worry in the world....as bindas as bindas can be.
Naughty, clumsy and the best looking and cutest of all my cousins. He's going to hate this....but we actually used to call him Karishma Kapoor, cause he had the best looking legs. He was always teasing someone or pulling some prank and getting into trouble.
I have been feeling really bad that I haven't had a chance to spend much time with u in the recent past but it makes me feel better to believe there is another world out there where all of us will meet again. I guess you were just in a hurry to get there first man....Hope u make tons of friends over there as well....and continue being your sweet, stupid self.
Love u lots da....Avani says Love u too(i'm happy she had a chance to meet u, and she even has pics with her handsome Chaitu babai).

Chaitu when he was young - Bhavishya
Chaitu………
I just hope he know we all love him.
I just wanted to share what I knew about Chaitu.
He was the cutest kid ever, chubby, cuddly and sooooo cute!! Everybody loved him; he was sooooo fat that he had to hold his tummy to walk around during his initial years. If he let go of his stomach he would fall flat on the ground.
He had this truck, yellow and red; he would sit on it and push it around with his legs. Just before winter in Bangalore, these flies use to come out, not sure of the name but they attract to the tube lights at home. Well this kid he used to push his truck around find a fly, smack it and open his truck and dump it in. End of the day he would have had all the flies at home in it.
He was not scared of anything when he was 1-2 years after that he got scared for all little things till he was 17-18 I think.
One day he went cycling on 16th cross Indirangar, guys living there will know that there was park near by, he went there with his frens, came back home crying hard, me and my grand mom we were shit scared because he would not tell what happened. Then finally he told us, a bull chased him. Poor guy you should have seen him. Well later I was asking couple of our frens as to what had happened. Then they said, ah nothing it just moved its head and he got scared.
Even when we watched movies like Junoon and movies with ghosts and tigers he always hid behind the curtains or peeped through behind the sofas. He was soo cute at such times, and we bugged him big time. There was this song in Telugu “nandikonda vagullona” from the movie gethanjali. He was shit scared about this song, man we bugged him, he would run to our grand mom (namma) and she would blast us.
Namma hmm she loved him, he used to bug her big time, he made he run all around the house, never took his meds when he was sick. I had to run from one side and namma from the other side and catch him and then give him his meds. I guess he missed her too, thats why he left us to be with her.
He never ate that well when he was a little kid, but he loved milk he would drink everyone’s milk. If somebody dint want to milk “chaitu” would be our savior.
What else can I write, he always broke his hand playing some game, he had a fracture always on his left arm, doctor said he has too much calcium that’s why his bones have become brittle (because of the milk).
Chaitu used to put a pillow on the back seat of my cycle, and we would go out to play all the time, play police and robber etc. My cycle skid always somehow or the other I would drop him, he would get hurt but he always got back on my cycle. Miss all that big time!
We stayed together for quite a while later they moved to a house near by. Lakshmi was born and man the way he used to fight with her. Poor girl, he used to bug the hell out of her. Once he said come lakku bull fight and he was standing against the wall, poor lakku, she bent her head down like a bull and went straight for his stomach and this jack ass moved out of the way and poor lukku hit her head against the wall. This ass sat there and laughed his guts out. He was sooo playful and full of pranks.
At one phase our cousin Vamsi started off this fish tank sickness, chaitu also got one, in all our tanks the fish always died but his, the snails and guppies he had would double and triple all the time. He was always proud about that.
He never studied, that’s was like his foe. If he hated anything in his life it was studies.
His poor mom would sit with him day in and day out and make him study. Oh when we stayed with me and namma, I and chaitu went to tuitions. God that’s a different story, Detchi aunty could never get anything across to him, he always wanted to play.
Chaitu when we was in 6th he started eating big time, but he never put on weight. He could eat 8 Samosas. He loved the butter cookies his mom made, she just has to make them and its all done.
We had so much fun, when all of us got together, vamsi, Harsha, kirthi, nitya, lakku, we all bugged chaitu first. I guess we loved him a lot so we bugged him the most.
Once somebody came up with this stupid thing, put your palm out and say here is the house here is the garden, where do you want the swimming pool....
And once somebody just spotted a place on their palm you would spit, and thats the swimming pool, this Dude when and tried it on Harsha and got a good wack,he was so hillarious when he did that. Even though everyone hit him he would still find another guy to do the same. He always got into trouble.
He had the most amazing memory, he would come and say “ay bach u know aaaa” and ramble away something or when I get pissed off with him “ay bach sorry da”,Or “then wat elzz da”
I told him “Dai chaits finish your course and I will take you to Vegas, do what you want”.
Every time I called him or met his he’d say “ayy wat da bach remember aaa Vegas, I am coming”.
I dint get to take him, I dint, just the one thing he wanted I could not do it. I wish I could have.
Well chaitu my brother, man hezz da best. He was so innocent, stupid and always full of fun. All he wanted was “friendship” and “love”. He got what he wanted, not all the time, but when u come to think of it, he had fun more than anyone of us, I guess he lived life to the fullest. He did not have to go thru the mundane shot we go through and he left us all with sweet memories. I hope he knows we all love him. He is the best.
I could write more about him, I guess I will sometime later. For now, this is what Chaitu was when he was a kid.

The turn of events over the last 5 days has left a very bad taste in most of our mouths I would assume. For ppl who dont know, I'm referring to the death of a good friend - Chaitanya Lingam in a car accident last sunday at midnight.Linga's death is by far is the worst way in which reality could hit all of us I believe. Even now, and for some time more i guess, Linga passes and will pass through every now and then in our mind and thoughts, as and when we do things, which he used to do as well ! Its a most cruel way to take a life, but were no one to comment on that, are we? GOD up there finally does have his way, although we try to believe that we can lead and live life on our own terms all the time.Im writing all this cuz' the whole episode clubbed with the trip to hyd has left indelible marks on my memory and im sure, all of ours as well. Its just that much more for those who actually went over to watch the last rights being performed, watch 2 parents sob desperately as they tried to come to terms with the drastic end to their 23 year old son, and watch a younger sister trying hard to believe that her elder brother was no more. I believe I saw one of the worst sights I ever wanted to see in my life! All of us have gone through our share of SHIT in life im sure, and more is to come i guess, but somewhere down the lane, as much as all of us tried to hide it, we realized that we were brought back onto Earth with a big damn thud! You cannot always toe the line with life you know, cuz some time or the other, it'll hit you bad. Its almost like a game of cricket, where your the batsman, and the bowler is LIFE, who always gets another chance to come at you, to make you realize that it takes only one instance to finish it all off, buddy! Yes, its quite right, when ppl say 'Youve got 1 life, live it to the fullest' - but pls for heaven's sake, define the word FULLEST to suit your capabilities!Natural death is one thing, and thats very well accepted after a certain point of time in life, but death of this kind is not what you want to see. Especially, when you hear from his own Dad, that he was afterall on the road to recovery, trying to make something out of his life over the last 3 months since the death of his another close friend. Thats the most strange thing isn't it, GOD does things when you least expect it. All of us would surely say - He didnt deserve such an end, but do we know what we deserve for all the good and bad deeds we've done in life !I really dont want to prolonge the misery anymore for all of us, but just wanted you guys to sit down and think - Life cannot always be driven at our own pace. We need to realize that we're in a stage, where what we do every step of the way does affect a lot of ppl around us too, mainly our immediate family and our closest circle of friends and foes. So pls pls pls be careful when you get onto that bike the next time, when you get into that car the next time, when you go ahead and do something just to please yourself, not thinking of how it would affect ppl around you !And as Ibu said while we were parting at hyd - 'Considering the very sad nature of this trip, its a reassuring thought that atleast friends will be there through life's uncertainties'. Hope it always remains that way.TAKE CARE and GOD BLESS.
